Who said that?: Ventriloquist Kellie Haines, Magrau the bird and Kamilla the frog will take a trip into outer space with the help of the audience at Fox. The multitalented entertainer with a background in theatre, clowning, singing and dance will perform from 11 to 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3. Free tickets are already available.

Grab & go: Do you like surprises? Are you adventurous enough to check out a bag of books sight unseen? If you answer yes, then your books are ready. Grab & Go book bags are available for children, teens and adults. These bags are offered in many different genres - including action/adventure, Canadiana, popular fiction, romance, science fiction and more - and inside, there are a number of books preselected by library staff to save you time.

Reading club: It's not too late to join the Summer Reading Club. Sign up at the library to receive a special booklet to record your favourite books, and collect weekly stickers to track your reading. Members can drop in to our programs and kids who have read for 50 days or more receive a gold club medal.

Audiobooks: Keep entertained on those long summer road trips with an eAudiobook you can download to your computer or digital device such as an iPod, iPhone or other smartphone, or tablet. Check out the Library's OneClickdigital service for thousands of full-length titles under Digital Content on the PMPL website.

Nothing but 'net: If you already feel confident using the mouse, sign up for a Beginner Internet class at CPL. You must be able to click and scroll with the mouse. You'll learn the basics of the internet and be surfing in no time. Registration is required for this free program as space is limited. Beginner Internet is set for Aug. 1, 7 to 8 p.m. at the City Centre branch. Call the Ask Me Desk at 604-554-7330 to register.
