Parent-Child Korean Mother Goose Program: Are you a Korean parent with a child under three years of age? If so, you and your child are invited to share in the fun of learning nursery rhymes, songs and stories in Korean and English in this free program. The program runs Mondays through June 3, 10:30 a.m. to noon at the City Centre branch. For more information or to register, call 604-468-6101. Priority will be given to people who are registering for the Mother Goose program for the first time.

Parent-Child Mother Goose Program in Cantonese: This free program runs Fridays from April 12 (today) through June 7, 10:30 a.m. to noon at the City Centre branch. To register, call Ada Sin at 604-468-6002 or email [email protected]; or phone Shirley at 604-937-3221.

PORT MOODY

Inlet Book Club (drop-in): This book discussion group meets in PMPL's ParkLane Room from 1 to 3 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month. At the May 1 meeting, the group will be discussing The Secret Daughter by Shilpi Samaya Gowda. In this debut novel, Gowda interweaves the stories of an Indian girl, the birth family that abandoned her and the U.S. family that adopted her.

Author reading - Janet Love Morrison: Janet Love Morrison is a recently published author from Port Coquitlam who will read from her book Friends: Six Women, Six Cultures, One Humanity, which follows the lives of six women who are all facing difficult life challenges. The six meet in a salon once a week to share their stories of success, failure and much more, and their story celebrates the beauty of multicultural friendships. Love Morrison will also discuss her writing process and how she got published, and she'll take questions from the audience. The reading takes place Tuesday, May 7 from 7 to 8 p.m. Registration is appreciated.
