COQUITLAM

Online summer fun for children:

Would your children like to learn English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Mandarin, Russian or Italian? Try Muzzy Languages at the CPL website.

TumbleBooksCloud Junior is an online collection of eBooks, read-alongs, graphic novels, videos and audiobooks for elementary and middle school-aged children.

And please note that there are no fines on children's materials as the library wishes to promote early literacy among families and children, and removing fines will assist in this important time in a young child's learning development.

For more information about any of these programs, visit www.library.coquitlam.bc.ca. The City Centre branch is located at 1169 Pinetree Way and the Poirier branch at 575 Poirier St.

PORT MOODY

Stories Galore and More: The Tri-Cities Family Literacy Committee presents Stories Galore and More in Rocky Point Park on Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. Enjoy stories, crafts and puppets in the park, or check out the poster in the library for days and times when the program is presented in other area parks.

Once Upon a Time, There was a Farmer: Kids and their caregivers are welcome for stories, songs and fun at Port Moody Public Library's storytime at the Port Moody Farmers' Market. Librarians will see you at the market on Friday, July 19 at 3 p.m. and they'll be back again on Aug. 16 at 3 p.m. as well.

For more information, visit library.portmoody.ca or call 604-469-4577. Port Moody Public Library is located at 100 Newport Dr., in the city hall complex.

TERRY FOX

Summer reading tips for parents: Read to your child. Even if children can read themselves, they still enjoy hearing good stories read aloud. Readers in the early grades can understand far more advanced vocabulary and complex stories than they are able to read - it helps their reading later if you continue to read to them.

Puppet show: Be transported to another world at Terry Fox Library's summer puppet show. Join libraries and their puppet friends as they share stories on Tuesday, July 30, 6:45 to 7:30 p.m. Free tickets are already available.

For more information, visit www.fvrl.bc.ca or the Fraser Valley Regional Library Facebook page. Terry Fox Library is located 2470 Mary Hill Rd. in PoCo. Phone 604-927-7999.
