Summer is not the time to give up on fitness and Pinetree Community Centre in Coquitlam has various offerings to make exercising fun and healthy. Here are just a few programs available.
Boot Camp
This is a program incorporating drills, free weights and cardio exercises. The instructor will lead you through an hour of exercise drills that include cardiovascular and muscular conditioning, flexibility and balance training. All fitness levels are welcome. The program is on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for the cost of $40 plus HST.
Pilates Core and Stretch
Pilates matwork that tones and strengthens muscles without the bulk, enhances body awareness, alignment and breathing. Use of special stretch techniques for increased flexibility to improve posture and balance. Tuesday, July 12 at 5:45 p.m. for a cost of $56.
Pilates: Beginners
Combines stretching and strengthening to work the entire body. Series of controlled movements engage your body and mind, promoting physical harmony and balance. Thursday, July 12th at 6:45 p.m. for a cost of $56.
Yoga Beginner
Enjoy the spiritual, mental and physical benefits of Hatha Yoga. Gentle stretches combined with correct breathing techniques will create energy and help to reduce stress. This program is offered on Tuesday and Wednesday. The cost of the program is $42.
Yoga Intermediate
Ready to move to the next level of Yoga? Progression into intermediate yoga exercises. Completion of beginner level recommended. The program is offered on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. The cost of the program is $42.
Cardio Kickboxing
Join an all-levels-welcome, high-energy workout incorporating low impact, power and strength intervals. This is a fun way to burn maximum calories and the program is offered on Monday evenings. This cost is $32 plus HST.
