Kids, design a t-shirt for PoCo's 100th birthday

Artistic young people in Port Coquitlam will have a bit more time to submit their entries for the city's 100th anniversary t-shirt design contest.

Artistic young people in Port Coquitlam will have a bit more time to submit their entries for the city's 100th anniversary t-shirt design contest.

The city announced Monday that it is extending the deadline to March 15 for t-shirts designs, which will be promoted as part of Youth Week (May 1 to 7).

Participants must be between the ages of 13 and 18 years and the designs should express what they love about living in Port Coquitlam and what makes the community unique. Entries can also focus on the city's achievements over the last century.

The designs are for the front of the shirt only and will be printed on either white or black fabric, depending on the design.

The contest is open to all Port Coquitlam youths and submissions must include a brief description of the design and be in JPEG format no larger than 10 megabytes.

The winner will receive a $200 prize and will be required to provide the original format and turn over ownership of the design to the city.
