The Lower Mainland saw a great deal of tempestuous weather over the weekend, and places near the water were privy to powerful winds.
While it was sunny and bright for most of the day on Sunday, Feb. 7, Alouette Parks says a mini-storm passed through Golden Ears Provincial Park in the early afternoon.
"Anyone get caught in a storm in Golden Ears Park yesterday?" the park operator asks in an Instagram post.
Alouette Parks also shared images and a short video by Allison Barton Youssef (@allisonyoussef) and Asalah Youssef (@asalayoussef) who were at Alouette Lake South Beach when the storm passed across the water in front of them.
The stunning footage shows the storm moving above the water, with billowing dark clouds spread out in the distance that cast shadows across the woods.
Epic display in Golden Ears Provincial Park
In the comments, a couple of locals mention that they also experienced the breathtaking display, with one person noting that it was "epic" to witness.
