A prince of a man.
That’s how Canadian country music star Aaron Pritchett began a Facebook post remembering Cailen Vilness, one of the five men killed in the July 12 crane collapse in downtown Kelowna.
Vilness was just 23 years old. Pritchett writes about how Cailen had been making plans to marry his ‘soul mate’ Jaydean.
The post mentions Cailen’s infectious smile and laugh, and his sense of kindness and care for anyone he met. It also points out how Cailen’s mother managed to beat brain cancer twice, and how the young man was a massive part of her recovery.
Vilness was the son of Pritchett’s first cousin Danielle, making them second cousins, but the singer ends his post with ‘Love, Uncle Aaron’.
He is asking his followers to donate to a GoFundMe set up for Cailen’s family.
