A B.C. woman's viral letter to her jailors made it onto a popular American late-night television show this week.
On Monday, Jan. 18, West Shore RCMP took to Twitter to share a letter it had received from a woman who stayed in police custody for several days in Langford on Vancouver Island.
In the letter, the woman gives the facility a glowing review and said she was initially "nervous" about staying with the West Shore RCMP, but appreciated how "kind and helpful everyone was."
"Especially the [four] jailors who do a tough job and are often under-appreciated by the people in their care," she wrote. "You make a difference."
At the end of her letter, she gave the Langford facility a four-and-a-half star review.
@WestshoreRCMP don’t often get thank you cards from people who “stay” with us, but this was sure nice to see. 4.5 star rating to boot! 😀 pic.twitter.com/3vfLhzQOG4

Langford letter makes an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
On an episode of The Tonight Show that aired this week, host Jimmy Fallon remarked that the woman did "just about the most Canadian thing you could do."
"Keep in mind a Canadian jail is basically just a Courtyard Marriott," the funnyman quipped.
Fallon also joked that the review worked because "Travel and Leisure added it to its annual list of Top 50 Detainment Hotspots.
"That's an honour."
