A new row of Tesla “superchargers” for electric vehicles (EV) is now up in Coquitlam.
The company’s units are located by the strip mall at 1090 Lougheed Hwy., in the same complex as Fatburger near Ikea.
The Tesla infrastructure is in addition to the growing list of EV charging units in the city.
This spring, new units went up at Mackin Park, Evergreen Cultural Centre, Burke Mountain Discovery Centre and along Emerson Street.
Prior, EV chargers were installed at city hall; the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex; King Albert Avenue (beside Blue Mountain Park); the Tennis Courts (off Foster Avenue); Poirier library branch; and City Centre Aquatic Complex.
The city-owned EV stations, which can be used with a ChargePoint or Flo account, cost $1 per hour for a charge.
Tesla did not return a request for comment about when the superchargers will be operational.
