Dozens of Tri-City candidates running for office are getting the nod from the local labour council.
The New Westminster and District Labour Council (NWDLC) has endorsed candidates for all three cities, including mayor, council and trustee hopefuls.
This list is made public in advance of the civic election so voters can use it to inform their decision on Election Day, which this year is Oct. 15.
“Our goal is to ensure that our communities and our elected representatives at all levels of government in Canada respond to the needs of people and families,” the website states.
The organization has ties to trade union members at the local level and is a chartered organization of the Canadian Labour Congress.
